Compressors

For higher localised pressure requirements it can be more costs effective to operate the system generally at a lower pressure and install a high pressure compressor or booster at point of use. Where a light air demand is required, out of general working hours, a small compressor could be used rather than starting the main plant compressors to pressurise the system and feed leaks.

So Why Hydrovane? Simple:-
  • At point of use you need something quiet and at 60 dba it's the quietest on the market
  • It's a 100% duty machine designed to run flat out. Reciprocating compressors would have to be twice the size to allow for cooling requirements.
  • The basic design has been around for years so it's well proven and extremely robust.
  • Competitively priced and manufactured in Birmingham.

Boosters

By installing a pressure intensifier it is possible to boost the air pressure by a 2:1 ratio. For example, with an inlet pressure of 5 barg an outlet pressure of 10 barg is possible. Maximum discharge pressure 13 barg.

Boosters require no electricity although they are air operated. However the cost of the air consumption is generally significantly less than operating the distribution system at higher pressure.
