Filtration/Filter Regulators

Filtration

High quality filtration helps to maintain low pressure drop across the system and regular maintenance to replace dirty filter elements is essential. Pressure drop across filter elements increase as they remove contaminants from the air. Eventually they get blocked. This means that air compressor generation pressure becomes elevated in order to overcome the pressure drop across the filter. Therefore, increased power consumption and higher electricity bills.

The cost of a replacement element is less than the additional electrical cost to overcome pressure drop.

We recommend Parker Donmick Hunter filtration equipment as they are recognised throughout the world for manufacturing the best high quality air treatment equipment at their plant in Gateshead. Unlike cheaper air filters they don't corrode internally, a feature which also reduces filter element life.

The grade and type of air filtration will depend on your specific application. As each process may require a different quality of air it may be more cost effective to treat the air at point of use rather than at generation for the whole factory.

Filter Regulator/Lubricators

Filter regulator/lubricators are an excellent way to further reduce pressure at point of use. Production equipment will have the highest leakage within the air system and the higher the supply pressure the more the machine leaks. So, why supply air to the machine at 7 bar if it only needs 3 bar for efficient operation. You could reduce the supply pressure and cut the leakage by 50%!
